well, not really a goodie, but certainly an oldie.

i remember the equally tasteless joke as well, that he was referring to barbra streisand and sammy davis jr.

they've been the party of bigotry ever since nixon's southern strategy.

Ed Meese. Playboy and Cosmopolitan magazines were to be outlawed. Of all the problems in the country, the Attorney General's biggest priority was getting rid of Playboy Magazine.

I think the idea was we were supposed to use everything up before Jesus returns or he would be mad for wasting it.

Earl Butz with his "Loose Shoes" comments. That was quite a collection of forward thinking gentlemen. Don't click on that link if you're easily offended. Mr. Butz had quite a way with words.

And I didn't know it was the basis for a movie. Wonder where I can find that.

to a portion of the movie-the song "Loose Shoes" that gives the movie it's Earl Butz inspired title. Not for the easily offended......you also may find yourself humming this song to yourself for a couple of days.

more embarrassed when traveling as an American than then, it was nuts. Then there was "Little boots" Bush and now this. I think I am just happy being holed up where I do not have to mention I am an American.

in the days of network TV and Walter Cronkite, when the top of the TV was where cats napped because it was warm. For a while Watt's statements popping up had me rolling on our moss-green shag carpet, while the kids scrambled to get their Leggos out of mom's way.

I genuinely missed him when he was booted.

But I didn't know he was a sign the 50-year New Deal era had ended, and I didn't know what was coming.
