My Granddaughter is in High School

And starting to think about college and career.
She asked for my advice this weekend and I gave her the best advice I could.
Find a way to get a job out of this country.
I wish I felt better about it...but I don’t.

Once graduated in 2016 in Mechanical Engineering and has good job right now.

The other graduated BS Nursing in August and also has a good job.

Especially the nurse, my wife worked for a few years in the UK and in Ireland and was quite highly regarded (as apparently US nurses are the gold standard for nursing)(but I may be biased being married to one ). Her issue will be work permits, etc unless you/she already has an 'in' to the EU or UK (like a second citizenship, as my wife and I have).

She says she will be the first Lesbian President of the US

it takes all kinds... and these kids are going to be the future for us all...I just wish we could leave them something better

He has a very keen interest in politics and is aware of the mega-screw job the repubs are giving us. We have been talking about Canada and Costa Rica. My son has mentioned the UK or Germany, for himself. I'm not sure, but I think the bar for immigrants in the UK is very high. Not sure about Germany.

One is a junior in college studying physics and the other is considering med. school. I just hope they wind up in the same country eventually so they can bring me over.

If it is technical or finance, my advice is for her to try to get summer jobs or work study with Venture Capital firms or Investment Banks. The reason is not about money, what she will gain is valuable knowledge on starting and running companies, she can then use her moral bearing to start up worker friendly small companies.
