What I don't understand is why the 37 other Democratic senators who joined her aren't similarly criticized. I saw a thread the other day rightfully lauding Cory Booker for campaigning for Doug Jones. He called for Franken's resignation shortly after Senator Gillibrand.

She's the junior Senator from New York. The senior Senator is Chuck Schumer, who is also the Minority Leader and former chair of the DSCC. I'd be shocked if she didn't give Schumer a call in advance letting him know what she was about to do. In fact, more likely than not Schumer was orchestrating the whole thing and gave Gillibrand a high profile role in the whole ordeal. Remember, Schumer allegedly spoke by phone with Franken numerous times to ask him to step down.

But for some reason people here only feel comfortable attacking Gillibrand.

I believe the Dems cleared the decks to go after Chump and Pedo Moore should he be elected. The recent focus on Chump's victims seems to bear me out. In another environment Franken likely survives. That is not to say, while he is not in the same class as miscreants like Moore and Trump, Franken's actions weren't disturbing.

If there was an investigation, the due process often discussed here, we would likely be where we are at now with proof that some of the incidents indeed occurring as Franken maintains, with him remembering them differently.

voter suppression tactics, along with lord knows what sort of electronic finagling at the ballot box (seen what's going on in Alabama with the disallowing of reference to actual paper ballots in favor of manipulatable screenshots?), I'm afraid that anything's possible

and who knows what sort of inroads the Russians are making, with full cooperation of this admin

the wing nuts are going to go hard after that seat during the regular election

goes without saying anyway. they have unlimited resources, along unlimited disregard for the truth, which makes it much easier to run a campaign

they're even more transparent in their employment of the nazi/soviet propaganda techniques of old, after discovering just how easy it is to tell the most outlandish lies imaginable, and have them...work!

Nope, the leadership wanted to investigate to see if Franken should be supported or asked to return. 13 OTHER female senators asked Franken to just resign, and were joined by 19 OTHER male senators. Plus, several other senators of both sexes suggested he should consider resigning.

He did the right thing in the beginning and then called Franken repeatedly to ask him to resign. His instincts were right in the beginning but then he turned around and went with the mob.

Sanders and Gillibrand denounced Trump as a political maneuver, seeking political cover from the wildfire that sprang up on far left against Democrats.

At least Gillibrand did with angry fires scorching her political butt. I guess Sanders just saw her running and thought it was a good idea. These are his people, after all, or at least the ones he seeks to lead, but they're a bit out of his control right now.

When somebody makes an ambiguous statement, especially an insulting one, it's up to the listeners to draw any inference they want.

Trump suggested Kirsten Gillibrand would do anything for money. The logical inference is Trump is suggesting she would have sex for it.



When he turns around and says she came to him asking for money and now the Dems are calling her a whore how will that work out?



They will say she was looking for a campaign donation. They won't say she was offering her body for it.

i'm still too hurt and angry toward all of the democrats who bullied Al Franken into announcing he will resign.
