What is with the shock that Trump insulted Gillibrand with an insinuation?

This is lightweight for him. Doesn't even come close to his other statements and video comments. He has numbed many with his tweets and it is hard to top him admitting he physically molests women at will.

Like he gives two anythings about "Bill and Crooked", but couldn't resist stirring the pot.

That's the only possibly amusing thing.

"So disloyal! Oh, I feel so sorry for...." nope. Only because she's calling on him to resign and thinks that we're so dumb we'd actually say "We're on your side, Dear Leader!"...

That's all that gave me a small chortle.

It’s like when he didn’t think anyone would mind his bull crap excuses for firing Comey.

He probably did her a huge favor by attacking her. Gives us a reason to remember who out real enemy is at the end of the day.

I'm not convinced a release date of early 2018 means it's going to have anything juicy, and that's what I want to see from him -- his unvarnished memoirs. Unless he's certain nothing he publishes would in any way interfere with ongoing investigations, suggesting he knows that all investigations he can comment on will be over before then (which I doubt) there's going to be little meat.

I'm still not certain if I want to help give him financial advancement until the full story about why he did what he did re: bringing Enailgate back in the spotlight.

At the same time, even if I am still sore over that, obstruction of justice is wrong, and if that's what Trump did (which seems clear) because Comey wasn't as cooperative as Trump thought he'd be.... then Trump's in the wrong, and while I definitely appreciate the Comey trolling for wit... the only was I'd pre-order the book was if I had enough money to throw away to inflate sales numbers just to piss Trump off, not necessarily to help Comey have enough to retire comfortably until he can write a real tell-all. The enemy of my enemy isn't necessarily my friend.

But yeah, Trump doesn't get that we aren't as stupid as his sheeple.

I honestly am glad it's Gillibrand leading this rather than, say, Warren, or other more likely candidates for 2020. I'm not discounting the power and influence that someone who starts out as a "seat-warmer" in the Senate can obtain -- heck, "Silent Hattie" Caraway was from my state -- but when you start out that way eventually you do find issues you're passionate about. These were her pet issues years before this came out.

I don't mean to demean her, because it's not a bad thing to be relatively inexperienced or to have gotten a boost by taking over a seat. I just think she needs more seasoning before I'd consider her viable for 2020. But if any of the Democratic women were going to champion this and go accept being person getting the ire for us losing Franken in order to vigorously go after Trump... well, this has been her bag, and it's not damaging more serious 2020 contenders in Dem eyes (Franken had said back in August he wasn't going to attempt the 2020 Presidential race).

Many people, me included, think Gillibrand screwed up bigly by hounding Franken out of the Senate on the basis of largely unsubstantiated claims of minor acts of loutishness by mostly anonymous accusers. Trump, on the other hand, has actually bragged about doing exactly those things - much worse than anything Franken did - of which he has been accused by women who have spoken out in public. However, Trump, being among other things a dumbass, doesn't understand that what he's doing is helping unite Democrats in defense of her: The point is that if she wanted Franken ousted (even if unfairly) for minor, unproven actions, it's quite consistent for her to demand the same fate for Trump. It is also consistent for Dems to demand consequences for sexual harassment. What pissed people off about what Gillibrand and other senators did was that they didn't evaluate the accuracy of the claims against Franken. Trump, on the other hand, has straight-up admitted to being a sexual predator.

...for a vague and barely coherent rant. It barely manages to be an insult, parsing to little more than "Gillibrand bad."

The recent conversations about sexual harassment have been about the abuse of power, and forcing victims to remain silent from fear of harm, job loss, etc

A sitting US Senator, member of a co-equal government branch able to raise allies SHOULD be perceived by Trump as a possible threat

But he apparently has absolutely no throttle, no common sense whatsoever
