Can people please not do "we can't beat Moore" threads?

It's one thing to "be realistic"...but there are people in the field in Alabama who are going to be working right up 'til the polls close to keep a bigoted pedophilic bully out of the Senate.

There is NO good reason to say or do anything to diminish hope and enthusiasm when hope, enthusiasm(and in some cases sheer desperate fear)are the only things keeping those people going.

Be guarded...but please, do NOT be a negging, defeatist downer about this.

We can WIN this race and we all need everyone working for Doug Jones to believe that.

OK?

It ain't over until the pudding hits the ceiling fan. Don't give up when the people in the trenches haven't. Thank you Alabama Dems!

Yes, the campaign has brought out a lot of ugliness...but winning the seat is crucial to being able to fight the ugliness and we have a responsibility never to diminish hope.

Yours was far from the only OP I was talking about, and I do give you credit for self-deleting it.

I should have known better posting it on the eve of the election. That is true. I just get tired of people reading the post titles and assuming things.

I usually try to keep out of the way. It seems like, after a couple of attack posts, people like to jump on the bandwagon. I guess flaming is fun.

And to be accused of having disruptive intent, hidden agendas and secret allegiances when it's obvious that I don't.

Probably time to let that go in this thread.

Have a good day.

I have just finished talking with friends on Facebook who have been phone banking all day for Doug

I left work where my colleague and his wife were discussing how tired they were from spending a week with volunteers hand writing thousands of personalized notes to female voters pleading that they vote for Jones

I spent the evening talking with my daughter who was concerned that her friends havnt been heard by male school friends regarding fears of what Moore means to them as girls

I passed At least 100 Jones signs in my neighborhood as I drove around today. No Moore signs

I took a call from my elderly parents worried about what a Moore win means for our state and their desire for help getting to the polls tomorrow.

I had a friend tell me he was taking tomorrow off to drive people to vote.

I had a brave, dedicated young man from DC approach me in my yard to canvas me but also thank me for the Jones sign in the yard

I have talked to more people than I ever have heard say they gladly gave money to the Democratic senatorial candidate in Alabama and would give more.

I have had Republican friends tell me that they just can't bring themselves to vote for Roy.

So, forgive me when I say to all DUers with respect....please shut the fuck up for one goddamn night about Alabama being unable to elect a Democrat while we try....try..to do,what is right. We just need your support right now.

Thank you, Ken, for this thread.

Gotta say, I feel exhausted just reading your post, keeping track of all you've done. Thank you from one Dem who says, thank you so much for doing what we all need to do in the months to come--fight like hell to turn this mess around. In Alabama, the right thing to do is clear and to everyone in state who has donated, worked those phone banks, gone door-to-door, mailed out those endless mailers, I and many others are grateful and offer a giant Bravo!

It's not over until it's over. We don't know where it will land but I'm getting a real good feeling about tonight's outcome.

If we all get our wish, I'll be toasting you and your compatriots from afar. Hell, even if it doesn't go our way, I'll raise a glass!

All your hard work paid off tonight. Bravo to the bunch of you and bravo to the State of Alabama. You all did the right thing. Country over party. This is how we win and take back our lives and reclaim the future.

Congrats!
