I have a slight request for the assembled masses...

When referring to the senator from Vermont by last name, use "Sanders."

When referring to the White House press secretary by last name, use "Huckabee Sanders."

I refer to this thread:
https://www.democraticunderground.com/10029966420

in which "Sanders" claimed that Trump's immigration ban would have stopped the NYC bomb attack...naturally, I thought "Sanders" could have been the senator, although logic suggests it wasn't.

the reason people use such titles is that DU asks such threads to carry the same title used in the original source.

I do favor your proposal in the name of clarity. Maybe put (Huckabee) in parentheses when it wasn't in the original headline?

I think the parentheses would work to avoid confusion. In GD, there's more leeway.

really?

Do you REALLY believe "Sanders" would have said such a thing?

That seems impossible to me.

Like Bernie, Hillary, and so on.

It's like in my house, around 5:55 PST I say that I'm going to watch Rachel and everyone knows who I mean.

I see that the actual article title was used in this case, but I believe that even in LBN it's permissible to edit for clarity and avoid confusion - (Huckabee) Sanders Says Trump Policy Would Have Kept Out NYC Bomb Suspect, for example...
