(31,997 posts)no need to read about California fires or the local government.

(90,708 posts)...with the clothes on my back. I've written about that elsewhere at DU so no need to repeat.
N is a regional reporter -- San Diego/SoCal is her region, and believe me, fires are important news here.

(90,708 posts)It came exceedingly close, but only destroyed one house in our street -- there are entire neighborhoods not far away that were wiped off the map.
The fire is chewing its way up the coast, tho, and our adult kids in Santa Barbara are under voluntary evacuation.
But there ain't no global warming, 80 degree temps in December are normal, and Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a dinosaur.

(68,582 posts)kids...did you know my sis got 13 inches of snow in Georgia day before yesterday...climate change for sure. I lived in Georgia for 12 years, we had a light dusting twice.

(4,516 posts)all the Thomas fire news.
I have gotten all the evacuation notices on my cell phone. Folks I know who have been evacuated send out emails and texts letting us know what is going on with them.
A private person can only repeat what they read from the news about the fire and cannot report up to date news.
I would not pay this person to do that.
I have read your posts which I consider first hand news like I get from friends affected by the fire.

(29,718 posts)I've been concerned for you since last Monday. I hope that you are able tobe home soon (if you're not already.) I know how traumatic this is...I moved from Mendocino and lived through many fires.

(58,785 posts)If this person and blog are not doing well, that would be not be new news or any particular surprise to those who became acquainted here. Thus, this chortle posted here struck me as very...unnecessary even before you pointed out your supposed disinterest.
Whatever is inspiring this, maybe keep it in tornado country?

(50,254 posts)No reason for you to diss her or act like what she does isn't a real job.
Why would you be so pointlessly meanspirited to someone who is one of the good people in the world?
She never did you or anyone else here any harm.

(68,582 posts)know how I feel about Green traitors who elected Trump...Also, there is a self righteous tone...fires aren't important.. the things I am interested in are important...and a what's wrong with you people kind of attitude...off putting. That being said she was trying to do some good in the world and there are not enough who want to do that.

(50,254 posts)It's just that people on our side of the spectrum aren't supposed to kick progressives when they're down.

But in an era when the New York Times is struggling, I don't know what you can do.

(25,586 posts)Her work was amateurish regurgitation of the work of others, repeating what she read on Twitter, or half-assed references to what was being reported on Spanish-language television.

(68,582 posts)I had this conversation with my kids. I felt they needed to consider if they could find jobs when choosing a major. And they did. I didn't force them but strongly suggested it. You have to make a living. Some folks do what they love as a hobby or volunteer work. Some of my daughter's friends...majored in theater and communications. It is very hard to find a job in those fields...although I think both are undervalued. The kids are mostly working now, but not in their field. The theater major was told she had to work for free in order to have an entry level job. She couldn't afford that. They started a bit lower out of their fields, but will be fine in the end.

(18,101 posts)Nadin was kicked off of DU for being downright nasty to this community for most of the time she was here. It's well documented by admin in ATA and the hate mailbag.
I understand she met the same fate at JPR. They didn't wait thirteen years, though.
Nadin is a survivor. Another career is right around the corner, and she'll be the best at whatever that is.

(50,254 posts)And, like here, she was banned there AFTER she had already quit-to me, you have to respect it when somebody stands their ground in BOTH of those situations.
I guess I see her as someone we could have had with us, had the way been found to work with her.
And again, the author of the OP should have the decency to self-delete. We're a better site than to be kicking people when they're down.

(34,111 posts)and kept up with her on Facebook until I quit that. I feel badly that this has happened to her. She had her own beliefs and even if I had disagreed with them (honestly I did not know exactly how she felt because I left JPR very early because I was bored with everything here and there) I would not be happy to see her bad luck. I hope she is able to recover this and get back to what she loves, even if some here think it was worthless it was not worthless to her or to the people who benefited from her reporting.
Please take this down.

I know you probably do not want me back, It is mutual.
Can you send me the password reset so I can do that, basic fucking cyber security, and i can move on and away from your fucking DLC site? I know I am not the only actual liberal who will stay away from your neoliberal site, At least be honest who you want to cater to. But seriously, you say you were hacked, you insist people reset their passwords... basic cyber security. If you were hacked or not it is really not my business, nor do I care.
I really do not care for your type, the Limousine insider DC, so called liberal. but really, basic cyber security.
Oh and I have tried using your fucking system to reset it and move on at least 5 times, one from Mexico incidentally during a shive. (the week of mourning in the Jewish tradition, I do not expect you to know that)
Nadinbrezezinski is my fucking user name.
Incidentally, I told your fucking party it was making a Weimar level mistake when you nominated HRC, enjoy that. I told you guys you were doing that before you did that before the primaries were over, and incidentally, my ROV used white out in San Diego to erase Sanders votes, welcome to the Torta effect. (yes it went to court by the way, and the ROV lost)
It is YOUR FUCKING PARTY. Neither democrats or republicans represent me, a simple working class media person that called Trump a fascist. But I am a working class member, and I get it why he got elected. But your party chose to steal the primaries. You are as guilty as the SDs were for the same fucking mistake at the twilight of the Weimar Republic. Historians are sure to call it exactly that.
But can I get that, so I can fucking move on?
Thank you.
And what's with all these fucking flies, anyway?

(6,930 posts)So I guess this is one of those she did it first things? I remember that not working too well in school but perhaps it does here. I think the op showed who the op was, as many posted here said. I guess they have some history, but my goodness, what an ugly thing to post. I cannot help but wonder if the op is actually happy at a person losing a business that meant something to them. If so, that is some very bad karma there;
OilemFirchen
(7,143 posts)She may have been a DUer, but she was not a friend to the community, nor the Democratic Party. In fact, she was extremely nasty to most here, hilariously lording over others with her bizarre "bonafides". This is, above all, a private gathering of individuals with like interests and with rules. She overstayed her welcome and self-banished, before writing the above screed - for which she was finally, and thankfully, banned. Banned DUers have violated the TOS of this site and it's not at all unbecoming to enjoy a bit of schadenfreude at their expense.
BTW, this was not her "business". She is still, as far as I know, a "reporter" for a San Diego penny-saver. This OP is about her blog. That she is unable to keep it going is likely a reflection of her inability to write interesting, timely and coherent articles.
While you're at it, wanna make a statement about the flies?
