Do you think it would be better for the Democratic Party if Moore wins?

A lot of people are saying that a Moore win would stain the Republicans for years. I think Lindsey Graham even went so far as to say it would be the death of their party. I don't think I'd go that far, but it would be true that we'll be able to paint Republicans as racists, bigots, and sexual perverts for some time.

Personally, I still think it would be better for Jones to win. Anything that can slow down Trump's dangerous agenda is good for the country.

repudiate Moore after reelecting him to the State Supreme Court following the Ten Commandments monument fiasco. If he gets elected this time, he'll be worse than ever. I don't want to see him validated again.

I think it is very wrong to assume that there will be some kind of Moore effect that will hurt the Republicans. Partisan Republicans don't care and a lot of swing voters don't care about sexual misconduct issues either. I don't think this issue is as big among the general population as it is among people in politics, the media or political junkies like us who follow these things closely. A lot of people will shrug off the accusations or say "well, the Democrats are the same, look at Franken."

Long term, and looking at the mid-terms, if Moore wins there would be some good shit for Dems to run on.

But overall, I'd rather have that seat be Dem, as a start of the Blue Wave we hope to manage in '18.

Besides, we need another Trump loss.

Then, after Moore is seated, expel him for his misdeeds and replace him with Sessions. That will be followed by appointment of an FBI director who will fire Mueller and, well... either we man the barricades or stick a fork in us, our democracy will be dead.

That doesn't mean Moore is a sure thing. But, for me, that explains the pivot to support by the RNC and Trump's aggressive pro-Moore campaign.

Just sayin' I really think these are bleak times.
