There's this thing called "critical languages". This may come as a shock to you, but being able to speak Chinese, Arabic, Russian, and various other languages of our chief rivals is something of an important skill. Weird, right?

(Well, not a literal death of satire-- figuratively. And the kiss is a metaphor. Witnessing the death may be seen as one also, since satire, not being a physical being cannot die. And it's not the kind of license in your wallet... it's wordplay to enhance or highlight an effort )
