The police identified the suspect in Monday morning's New York City bombing as Akayed Ullah, a 27-year-old Brooklyn resident from Bangladesh.

Ullah is believed to be behind the explosion the police think was caused by a pipe bomb in a passageway linking the Port Authority and Times Square subway stations in midtown Manhattan. Numerous reports in the news media suggested the bomb may have exploded prematurely, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Ullah "did not achieve his ultimate goals."

Ullah was taken to a hospital for treatment for his injuries, which the police said included burns to his hands and abdomen. The police said just three other people were injured in the attack.

Bill Bratton, the former NYPD commissioner, told MSNBC's Lisa Daftari that Ullah was thought to have acted in the name of the terrorist group ISIS, but the police did not confirm that at a news conference later Monday morning; an NYPD official said only that Ullah did "make statements."

It's what we do to criminals.

No need to invade a country that's no threat to us, no need to go around beating up innocent citizens who are just trying to care for their families. No need for a travel ban from Bangladesh.

Just treat the problem...

Those who commit acts of terror don't fear prison. We're putting captured terrorists in prison now, and attacks only seem to be on the increase.

Prison is not an answer to the problem, it's an answer to the symptom.
