Both political Parties will glean a lot from tomorrow's election.

One of the Parties will be encouraged by the results and one will be discouraged.

The Republican Party will show itself to be united behind Donald Trump and Roy Moore or they will show themselves deeply divided by the leadership of Donald Trump.

Democrats should not assume that Republicans in Alabama are that different from Republicans across the nation. They will show their true colors. Democrats will better understand the difficulty of the battle ahead after tomorrow.

If there is a very low turn-out for Republicans, it will be a very scary sign for Republicans in the elections ahead. They will understand just how deep is their support for Donald Trump.

That will be my reaction against my so-called fellow Americans. I don't care about Roy Moore. He's been a disgusting human being with the basest evilness in him for years. It's those Americans who support him who will make me ill.

I think using Alabama as a bellwether for the nation is dangerous as well. Alabama has a lot of problems n many different areas. Taking lessons from one of the deepest of red states and building strategy on that is fraught with peril IMHO regardless of the outcome.

But I think the loyalty of Republicans in general will be on display.

Good point.

and if Moore loses I think that will cause republicans to re asses their situation. That said I think because of the allegations against Moore it creates a somewhat unique situation. People who otherwise would vote republican may not because they find the behavior offensive but that will not carry to all other races.

We have to be very careful what we take from this.

A win by Jones could be used to justify the actions taken with Franken for example and that I think would be a major mistake.

I think the blow back from that shows pretty clearly that people still believe in due process even in the face of a metoo movement with considerable force behind it.

It would certainly be encouraging if Moore loses but I think those results will be very nuanced and need to be looked at very carefully before making conclusions.

I think you do make a good point though that republican loyalty will be tested here even if the test is very situational.

I hope Moore doesn't win, but he might...Trump did.

It is a bright red state. What will it mean? It is Alabama. Only those who thought dumping on Sen. Franken was a good idea might be bummed...but I don't see how that would ever have made a difference anyway...this is a red red state..and what it will show is these voters like a pedophile more than a Democrat if Moore wins...and if he doesn't, it shows that there are some lines the GOP can not cross...doesn't really say anything about our chances in the midterms.
