As Mueller closes in on Trump, the right pushes back: Will he be fired?

As Mueller closes in on Trump, the right pushes back: Will he be fired?
With Trump in trouble, his allies argue that the entire Mueller investigation is a grand conspiracy. Will it work?
HEATHER DIGBY PARTON 12.11.2017•7:00 AM

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., appeared on CNN on Sunday and laid out the state of the investigation into Russian collusion with the Trump campaign in stark, simple terms:

It is. I would also add, as I wrote last week, that numerous members of the Trump transition team apparently knew that Michael Flynn told the Russian ambassador to tell his government not to react to the sanctions the Obama administration had just imposed upon them.

That's damning too. The Russians were essentially told, "Don't worry, we'll make sure you aren't punished for helping us win the presidency."

Whether laws were broken, beyond the charges filed so far against four top Trump advisers, we don't yet know. But it's clear that special counsel Robert Mueller is pursuing leads in a number of directions, from possible financial crimes to obstruction of justice to conspiracy.

When Trump fires Mueller and the entire republican party and right wing media fascists backs him up, democracy is dead in America.

God knows what the Koch's and Trump have in mind for us then.

I am truly scared about whats coming...any day now.

He has already started by calling for "investigations" of members of Mueller's team for bias. Subpoenas will fly.

Trump and his cohorts are fighting not only for their political lives but against criminal charges. They have no other option. We need to be ready for them to break any laws and norms as Mueller’s investigation closes in on them. Trump owns the FBI and DOJ so it is unlikely that they will stop him from any action he may take.

So; we know what he has done in the past:

incited violence in his brownshirts, e.g. fake anti-Muslim videos, calls against NFL protesters.

Arrested dissidents in mass round-ups, e.g. inauguration

Call for DOB and Congress to investigate his opponents on trumped-up charges, e.g. Uranium One, Obama administration unmasking

Sign a secret executive order that will be enforced midnight Friday to revoke civil rights e.g. travel ban.

Gin up war-mongering to raise the fear factor in populace, cement his bona vides with white nationalists, e.g. NK

We may have no choice but impeachment even before the mid-terms.

Every single democrat in the House would be a yes but it takes republicans to actually get it done.

investigation. Trump doesn't need any republicans from congress to get the DOJ to do it, but of course, the congresscritters will certainly be a help to the effort. If they are willing to name FBI investigators in open hearing, they will have no compunction from calling them to testify . . .

The GOP is totally compromised, rotted to the core. The dems are ineffective & easily distracted. All of my friends & family who were fired up after the Con's inauguration, are suffering outrage fatigue & disengaging again. If Mueller is fired do you think there will even be as many marching as there were for the woman's march? I'm betting not.

Whether Trump shuts down this damning investigation or not, Mueller needs to just keep working. However, he couldn't have felt very bolstered about people having his back after last week.
