Ex-Spy Chief: Russias Election Hacking Was An Intelligence Failure

I agree with this. For some reason US intelligence missed all of the signals. The NY FBI office seemed slow to react to all of the Russian operations also.

The Russian 2016 hacking, Morell told me, was in fact a U.S. “intelligence failure” in multiple ways. It was, he argued, at the least “a failure of imagination that’s not dissimilar to the failure of imagination that we had for 9/11,” with America’s spy agencies apparently unable to have conceived of social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter and electronic hacking of Gmail being used to attack the country’s election.

* An intel failure
* A counter-intel failure (what did we do to fight back? or stop them?)
* A governing failure (sorry, but it wasn't handled well: "Thanks, Obama" )
* A political failure (again: "Thanks, Obama" for letting McConnell cow you)
* A public relations failure - why didn't we (Obama, Clinton, retired intel, anyone / everyone) publicize it to the high heavens?
* A media failure - why didn't they????

Meanwhile, I agree with --- was it Malcolm Nance? -- who called this the biggest spy success in history.
