Ate in a pretty good Italian place on "Main St." and went to the FLW house a few blocks away...

Met some hilarious people in the restaurant... blue hatters in a sea of red....and one red hatter friend of thier's who said he hadn't voted for a repub in something like 30 years and was waiting for them to regain their sanity...
I once had a girlfriend from Florence,
when I lived in Memphis...

umm.. sounds like the start of a limerick.....

He got "Out ni......" um....out rascisted(?) by John Patterson in the 1958 gubernatorial election.
He swore then that he would never be 'out...you know' again.
And he wasn't.
Played the race card and held power for many years.

I know some folks on-line from Alabama (there's even a decent guy on Democratic Underground who's apparently from Alabama - I know!), and they all seem to be on the ball, but their descriptions of their fellow Alabamites indicates that many of those other folks are ot-nay oo-tay ight-bray, if you know what I mean. Hence, "Roy Tide".
