When Moore wins on Tuesday

Will some Republicans in blue states be so turned off that it will help Democrats in November 2018? I

I wouldn't think so, but this prevent is such a loon that he may be the gift that keeps on giving. Thoughts?

1. I don't know what the effect will be in 2018 but I do know what the immediate narrative will be.

Moore and Trump will announce that justice has prevailed. Genuine abusers like Al Franken have been exiled while innocent victims of smear campaigns, like them, have triumphed. And the shameful liberal establishment has been thwarted again.

It will be a happy day for them, which they will re-live for decades. Just like when the got Clarence Thomas confirmed and they then got to target, harass and bully Anita Hill for decades.

Repubs need him there for his vote. He is not going to become a cause leader as the only thing they will show him is how to vote for what they want. Yes, he will be allowed to make outrageous statements but there are several like him already so few will notice. Purely a political show.

We were using the same logic thinking Trump could never win election, that enough Republicans would be turned off by his behaviors and multiple accusations against him and not vote for him. And yet there he is.

I've experienced. I know there are far worse, but his ass (oops face) is in our faces all the time.

10. It might be good for closeted anti-trump Republicans.

They would have a way of defining themselves without directly attacking Trump by declaring their primary opponents as "Roy Moore Republicans." I think the Republican voter psyche would love an out -- a way to separate from Trump without admitting they made the original mistake of supporting him and so they could use Moore for easy transference.

11. Nothing will change because of him. He'll be a good Republican and treated as such.

The whisper-thin veneer of faux Christianity will be cast aside in favor of venal expediency, and they will see Moore's victory as proof that the nation is theirs for the taking, and to literal hell with the rest of us.

Any Republican who is still a Republican at this point is as vile as the absolute worst far-Right caricature.

Fuck them. Fuck all of them.
