I believed his intentions were sweet, even if he was being an idiot, Gillibrand writes.

Senator Says Male Colleague Told Her 'You're Even Pretty When You're Fat'
August 27, 2014

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) says in a new book that she has faced several sexist encounters with her male colleagues, being nicknamed everything from “Honey Badger” to “hottest member of the Senate.”

“Good thing you’re working out because you wouldn’t want to get porky,” Gillibrand says one colleague told her in the congressional gym, according to an excerpt of her book Off The Sidelines published by People.

After she lost weight following a pregnancy, Gillibrand writes that one male colleague squeezed her waist and implored: “Don’t lose too much weight now, I like my girls chubby.”

...But Gillibrand told People she hasn’t been fazed by these incidents, and said she’s using the sexism she’s faced working in Congress as motivation to take on issues like military and campus sexual assault. In the book, which is being released in September, she calls on other women to “speak up, gather strength” and “support one another.”

How many women have died of smoking related illnesses?

I think she should tell us how she came to support Big Tobacco over her champion cause.
Seriously, I'd like to hear that reason.

Edit: I think we should see her donor list before we go further.
She sure received a lot of support from Hillary Clinton's championed fundraising through PACS & EMILY'S List. Hillary brought in millions alone to distribute to candidates like KG.

We've witnessed this before.
"Money & Media", I really hope she's not one of those.

of Al Franken on the democratic side WITHOUT allowing him ANY due process.
She’s dropped in my estimation, rather dramatically.

If she winds up our nominee, I will vote for her, holding my nose as I do. But I hope we have a male candidate. I fear that last year proved America still isn’t ready to accept a woman chief executive. We need the strongest hand to play, to flush the bad guys OUT of our White House in 2020.

Gillibrand has rendered herself damaged goods now, at least for me.

The list of Dem Senators & Reps who are not on her list is strong & impressive also.
Perhaps none of them needed to make a statement since they have no intention on running for Pres.
This wasn't necessary for campaign purposes, then.
Here, posted last night. Credit to Diva77

Democratic senators who had not yet called on Franken to resign: Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Ben Cardin of Maryland, Chris Coons of Delaware, Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, Tim Kaine of Virginia, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Bob Menendez of New Jersey, Brian Schatz of Hawaii, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Chris Van Hollen of Maryland and Mark Warner of Virginia.

Coons, Shaheen and Schatz cannot comment due to the pending investigation before the Ethics Committee.

I am waiting for some honest response from KG especially, and any of the others to justify what they did with Sen Franken.
Until then, we're left to come to our own conclusions.
And so we are.

I am curious how the blowback from ther own supportes has impacted her/them.

Maybe it matters little.
This is not an "oh well- now move on " moment.

This is Sunday morning now, and there's been time by now for people to take a position. I still think Al Franken was driven out unfairly, and made to pay for the sins of everybody else who came before him and got away with it (which btw Bill Clinton DIDN'T. He paid a big price for it). I think any "offenses" by Al Franken were drops of ant piss compared to the Niagara Falls of Roy Moore and trump.

Meanwhile, Gillibrand has spoken out yet again. She finally came out, loudly and flatly, on how "the silence from Republicans is deafening" and how they have to called out for misconduct, too. on the big glass mansions THEY live in. Susan Collins on "Face the Nation" had to concede this. I understand Gillibrand has faced criticism about what she initiated against Al Franken. GOOD. As Rep. Debbie Dingell just put it on MSNBC, there can't be a double standard.

Gillibrand has to show just as much zeal going for the scalps of the GOP now. I want to vote for someone without having to hold my nose while doing it. She has awhile to prove it. But she does have to prove it. And I'm gonna be watching and taking notes.

I missed the swimsuit calendar with the grannies of the senate - Someone did tell me that Lisa Murkowski's thong was made from a Kodiak bear she had shot with Sarah Palin - For me that's crossing the line.

Wasn't the "waist groper" accusation against Franken the last straw that prompted her to lead the railroading of him out of the Senate?

She's toast for 2020. She completely fell for the Tweeden/Hannity/Stone hit job.

We don't need gullible yet ambitious pols who turn on our own anywhere near our presidential ticket.

Gullible yet ambitious, not a good combination.
