Many Republicans have betrayed our country.

Last edited Sat Dec 9, 2017, 10:42 AM - Edit history (1)

They have even betrayed their own Party.

For example, for many, many years, they were "anti-communist" and believed in a strong defense against countries such as Russia.

However, when they convened their convention in Cleveland this past summer, "someone" took the anti-Russian, pro-Ukraine amendment out of their platform? We now know that Donald Trump had taken a personal part in changing the Republican platform in favor of Russia. Republicans were silent.

When they nominated him as their candidate, they knew he had been convicted and had paid millions in fines for "money-laundering" when he ran his Casino. They knew he had filed for bankruptcy five or six times. They knew that American banks would no longer make loans to him. Yet, they did not require him to show his tax returns or any of his business filings. They knew he was a questionable character from the beginning.

When Russia was found to have attacked our election process in the last election, most Democrats and Republicans were determined to get to the bottom of it. James Comey was leading the investigation until he was fired by Donald Trump.

Even then, most members of both Parties were supportive of a "Special Counsel" to investigate the attack upon our elections and to find out if anyone colluded with the Russians in the process? They almost unanimously expressed high praise for Robert Mueller to lead the investigation.

Now, almost seven months later, many Republicans have turned on Mueller. It now appears that they did not want to find out the truth - they wanted a partisan cover-up.

Bob Mueller has uncovered some very uncomfortable truths about the Trump Administration. Many Republicans have chosen to take the side of Donald Trump over the truth and over our country. They are willing to ignore threats to our country and our democracy, instead preferring to attack and tear down those that are attempting to find the truth and protect our country from an obvious enemy. They intentionally lie and threaten our democracy and our institutions. They have betrayed everything our nation has professed to stand for. They have, in effect, declared themselves domestic enemies of our country and our Constitution.

We should not overlook nor minimize their actions against our country. We know who they are. They are FOX News. They are right-wing talk radio hosts. They are the Freedom Caucus of the Republican Party in the US Congress. They are not interested in protecting our nation from enemies, both foreign and domestic. They are the enemy of freedom and democracy. We should no longer look at them as simply opposing political voices. They are much more sinister. They are much more dangerous to our survival.

dictatorship/totalitarian form of government, and an attempted coup, one party system. I've never seen the US in such a perilous state. It is a war being fought without overt physical effects, but it is a war, aided by Fox News and like propaganda machines for supremacists. I still don't think most citizens comprehend the depth of what is going on.

When will Fox News be called out for what it is, Joseph Goebbels, Germany WWII, reincarnated for the 21st century.

Our only hope at this time, in my opinion, is to hold on until the elections next November and hope that the people have the wisdom to save themselves.

“Zieg Heil, all praise the great and mighty tRump! It’s about time we had a strong leader to MAGA!”

And woe be to those who do not enthusiastically embrace the new state of affairs. A lot of Germans did not endorse or approve of Hitler, but they were quickly trained to keep their mouths shut.

what is going on ... and some don't want to hear anything ... because it is too unpleasant for them to think about it. I've had some people tell me to basically STFU, that they have enough trouble getting by each day than to worry about the direction of the country. Another WTF!!!

Once Mueller removes tRump we will see riots and unrest on a scale never seen before, it will be a form of civil war. It's going to get ugly but perhaps as a country we will have a much needed house cleaning. Most if not all of the 'enemies' you mention will end up dead or in prison. Those in the right wing media surely deserve to be jailed and those that resist or take up arms will follow.
The one ray of hope I have is President Obama, I can see him coming back as an interim leader once the results of the '16 Presidential election are nullified. He is the one man who could pull us all together and restore confidence on the world stage.
We are going into uncharted territory, the evil and corruption runs so deep that extra-constitutional remedies may be our only way forward. Fortunately we are on the right side of history.

Mueller will turn over his evidence to the House and Senate and they will do nothing about it. That is the more realistic possibility. Obama is not returning. Mueller is not going to remove Trump.

If our masses were to focus our collected attention on any one of the Republicans, bring the weight of the enormous numbers we have on one, not let them distract us to this thing, then another thing, then a 3rd thing, ......not let them make us afraid...keep our focus on one, we could bring him down.

Then, we move on to another.

They win, because they keep us chasing 1000 things. We are all worried about something different. They keep us talking, reacting, complaining, arguing. Our anger doesn't scare them. If it gets too hot, they throw something out that changes the conversation.

We've got to rally together to bring down one of them.

Incidentally, if we turn up the heat on one, it will have an effect on them all. Right now, they are more afraid of the donors than they are of us. We are less a threat to them than their base to the right.

Imagine that. We're supposed to be the opponents, and they aren't even remotely afraid of us.

1) TrumpTax is gonna cost the country 1.5 trillion dollars.
2) 300 billion of it goes to only 15 families.

I'm telling them they need to take out a loan and pass 20% of it to me. I promise them it will create jobs, but the details are complicated and I don't think they'd understand it so I won't even try.

Right over their heads. I'm starting to like trash-talking people with big words so they can't respond instantly.

Yeah, I'm elitist. So sue me.

Grump is pro-Gump and anything that can enrich him he will do. He is like that kid I grew up with who would eat dirt for a dime. Gump and the rest of the Elect as I call them will steal money any way they can get it. Reagan and his bunch invented robbing the Treasury to get money and not have to work for it. Gump et. al. are merely carrying on the tradition. Wrecking the government, ruining people's lives, starting wars, etc. is all just collateral damage as long as Gump gets his. He doesn't care folks. He doesn't care about anyone but himself, period! He would sell his family to a bunch of cannibals if the price was right. Nothing means anything to him but him.

As for the rest of the people who support Gump, just remember, half of the people in this country would score less than 100 on an IQ test. I would begin my search there for Gump supporters.

"The Anti-Christ"

"He is not kind to people; he just flatters them when he thinks it will benefit him. He is said to have no real friends, just sycophants and hangers-on. He does not like animals. He pays no attention to his young child and didn't do any of the "dad" things for the others when they were kids. He thinks nothing of cruelly insulting anyone who disagrees with him or displeases him - in fact, insulting and demeaning others seems to be one of his favorite things. He can't stand it when others are more successful or well-liked or even when they get more publicity. He lies constantly, even when there's no particular reason to lie. He is an enormous black hole of emotional need. I can't think of anything good to say about him. He's not nice, he's not kind, he has no sense of humor, he doesn't seem to love anyone, he doesn't like music, art, nature, or any of the other things that most people derive pleasure or inspiration from; his claims to religious belief are phony and only to appease voters; he admires despots; he demands loyalty but doesn't reciprocate."
