So I am remembering a Dutch gentleman that was in my Sunday school class

that was like five years ago. He still had a accent. He would tell a story about his mother being pregnant with him and his grandmother deciding to keep him. He would talk about feeling guilty for the acts of his people. I have an uncle that was in WWII and the story goes he played dead in a ditch for three days while the Germans marched overhead. So I was young and bad mouthing the Germans and my uncle turned and said to me in no uncertain terms "you know they were not all bad, many were very good people". So I relayed that story to the Dutch gentleman along with my feelings that we as Americans would be doing the same thing under the right circumstances. I think he heard me and my opinion touched him. So after my story last night (I am better now) are we getting there, doing the same things now that the German people were doing in the 1930's?
