That the Franken resignation was part of a grander strategy. What role could he play effectively after he leaves office?
How about chairman of the DNC? Can you imagine a fierecer bulldog than him?

In California, for example, he could run against one of his back-stabbers, Senator Diane Feinstein. Hed likely bury her at the polls (Feinsteins been around forever, and is now viewed in California as a centrist).
Of course, Als too nice a guy to actually do it. Just daydreaming.

(16,646 posts)I think he ought to explore rerunning for his seat. Let the people of Minnesota decide. I'd probably do some polling first to see if I had a serious chance, but if so, spend the next couple of years slowly addressing all of the complaints, and then run.

(3,438 posts)...with now over 16 women accusing him of inappropriate sexual behavior ...and he basically being a vile, vulgar man--a perpetual liar and an alleged treasonous traitor can claim to be president....then, sh it-- Franken has a hell of a chance. And, Franken IS the good guy, I'd take him over the guy now occupying the white house in a nano second.
After Harris, Gillibrand (and other dems) ran Franken over wth a steamroller without tthe benefit of an ethics investigation or due process, they're off my list of would be potential candidates in 2020.
Ps. What happen to innocent until proven guilty, and why does guy in the white house get a pass?
