According to Chris Hayes tonight the above tax reduction for paying for wildfire and earthquake damage would be gone. Interestingly I did not hear him say it included "tornado" damage. Could mean that reduction stays for red states & tornado alley. .

(51,623 posts)CA Dems must call the state's reps non stop. The pressure on the GOP is working so keep it up until Jan1st. CA residents need to use the fires to light a fire under themselves and energize them to fight this BS Tax Scam. We have enough reps in Ca alone to flip the Tax Scam so make sure you and everyone you know calls and to share your experiences on social media...this part is crucial. The MSM is being distracted by ratings and are not giving much attention to the hundreds of events, protests, etc happening daily throughout the country. It is up to us to spread the word. We did it with the ACA repeal efforts and we are doing it again with the Tax Scam. Call Congress (202)224-3121

LA Times:
In the case of a major disaster, Congress still would be able to pass special legislation offering tax breaks for victims, as it has done in the past. ... "Let's say your home burns down and it isn't a disaster that CNN covers," he said. "You're affected the same way, whether it's nine of your neighbors or 900 of your neighbors that lose homes."
The deduction for personal casualty losses is one of many individual breaks that would be eliminated in the House Republican tax bill in an effort to streamline the tax code and produce more revenue to help offset cuts to corporate, business and individual rates.

And too many of us are ourselves weakened and spoiled by previous lives of security in a land of plenty, not at all prepared. Just look at all the whining and whimpering only threats of the relative adversity likely to come are generating.
