There's a bigger issue here than meets the eye.

What does gun control legislation and the Affordable Care Act have in common?

A couple of things.

Most people believe that there is much more regulation of guns than there really is and most people believe that the U.S. really does have the best health care system available.

This means that more gun control legislation isn’t necessary and “Obamacare” is a needless intrusion into our personal health care.

Most people, when asked about provisions in the ACA either think they already exist or favor them. Most people, when asked about specific gun control measures, either think they already exist or favor them.

Why the disconnect?

Huge amounts of money spent by the Insurance/Pharma/Medical lobby and by the NRA/Gun Manufacturer lobby to convince Most People to vote against their own interests.

Disclaimer: I hold a Federal Firearms License (C&R) and think everyone who wants a gun of any kind should pass the minimal scrutiny I did to qualify for that privilege.

The gunners here will immediately demand to know what research I can show, links to that data and, should I provide them, immediately deny their validity. Not so much for the health care side.

Repukes don't like rules. They'd rather have privileges and are whining when there are reasonable rules limiting their so-called freedoms (read: privileges).

BTW, stop saying "regulations" and start saying "rules" instead.
