Back in 2009, James O'Keefe created a video about ACORN

that seemed to show an ACORN employee aiding and abetting a pimp and a prostitute. After the outrage from Fox, Rush Limbaugh, etc, both the House and the Senate RUSHED to defund ACORN without so much as holding a fucking hearing. I believe the vote in the Senate was 89-6, so almost every Democrat (they had the majority at the time) voted to defund ACORN. The House voted to defund ACORN by a similar margin.

It later came out that the ACORN employee performed his duty 100% correctly and reported the pimp and prostitute to the police and that O'Keefe had completely doctored the video.

Why do I feel like the Franken resignation is about the same?

Oh, by the way, Democrats had just won big in 2008 and black turnout percentage had surpassed white turnout for the first time ever. ACORN was a big part of GOTV in the cities around the country. Yes, having a black candidate was a huge help as well, but ACORN played a big role. It's also no coincidence (IMO) that Democratic fortunes tanked at the national and state level ever since - 2010, 2014 and 2016 especially. Yes, Obama won in 2012, but Democrats lost at the state level and with races for governor.

yes, other organizations have come around to replace ACORN, but none seem to have the national presence and GOTV ability of ACORN.

Sure, maybe a Democrat will replace Al Franken and win election in 2018, but will this Democrat be as good as Franken? Will they be able to make the news with a zinger of a question? I certainly hope so, but I fear not.

And we will pay, just like we have before. It feels so hopeless.

I think NOW is a good time to call them and let them know I'm tired of the bullshit. I'm tired of Republican 'dirty tricks' and we do nothing. I want to elect PITBULL DEMS. I'm going to be honest here for a minute..I WAS AND AM NOT A FAN OF WHEN THEY GO LOW WE GO HIGH...FUCK THAT SHIT.

I'm so angry tonight I think I need to go out for a troll.

as well as my congressional rep asking them why so many Democrats are calling Al Franken to resign, but not Donald Trump, Blake Farenthold or Joe Barton. All three are Democrats - Chris Murphy, Dick Blumenthal and Elizabeth Esty

8. Remember the firing of Shirley Sherrod, due to another doctored video from Breitbart.

There's apparently no learning curve for Democrats. Just throw their own under the bus at the first peep of trouble.

Democrats, the party of suckers and cowards. No wonder the fascists are winning.
