Not accurate, @mpr @Stowydad. No final decision has been made and the Senator is still talking with his family. Please update your story.

(4,238 posts)If Alabama people get a say in who represents them, then so should Minnesota. Fuck those spineless assholes for trying to force his resignation!

** I just called this number and left a message of support asking that he remain in office and that we - the people - need him to continue doing his job

The big blaring headline is at the very top of the https://www.mprnews.org page, and big-sized, along with the obligatory big picture of an anguished - looking Franken, with the photo caption:
The body of the story has been updated with the Franken tweet
But the title is still as above as of 644pm ET - which discourages people from supporting him, makes people think its all over and done.

(1,095 posts)I voted for Kirsten Gillibrand, I will never vote for her again. This whole things seems like a setup to me. We all know how the GOP likes to play dirty.. It's too bad the Democrats don't have the stones to stand up and fight back. Let the damn investigation play out before throwing him under the bus.

(32,086 posts)If Franken were set on resigning, why would he not just go ahead and do it, instead of waiting a day? I am hoping that tomorrow, he'll just announce that he's had an overwhelming number of people calling him and asking him to stay and fight, so he will. Or, that he'll resign when Trump, Thomas, Fahrenholt, etc. resign. Meanwhile, Gillebrand, Harris, Schumer and the others will be on record as having asked for his resignation, and their asses will be covered. Probably too much to hope for, I'm sure.
