Love him for so many reasons, but just stupid - he did this to himself.

(31,011 posts)I was always an avid supporter. I'll never trust him or any man that abuses women in such a way.

(58,785 posts)that Time practically snubbed Tweeden in its silence-breakers cover. Her name's mentioned well down, no picture even though she's young and good looking, fitting the profile they hit very nicely.

(58,785 posts)with palms hovering OVER the breasts of a woman on tour with them as a professional "babe" is grounds for ending a career a person loves and resigning a senate seat millions elected him to...
Well, let's just say I believe that to be a viciously predatory and unjust non- "standard" applied from a position of safety. What happened to principles of justice like having accusations investigated? Fellow senators can reasonably call on him to resign for the sake of the party. NOT based on that vulgar but exculpatory photo.
Such as shame that "what goes round" doesn't really come around, as I do truly believe we all deserve whatever we dish out with often breathtaking, disgusting, even depraved callousness to others. We would be forced to be far better people.

(41,991 posts)He doesn't strike me as a quitter and if he steps up, doesn't hide, sticks with the adult, responsible road AND holds the GOP lack of responsibility and in front of everyone without ceasing he can do a great deal of good.
That's the only way to make this not just a win for those who will continue to abuse and get away with it.

(41,991 posts)I do not want to believe he's a creep. I want to believe he's clumsy and lived in a comedian's world where a lot we "citizens" would be shocked about goes on, I want to believe people are misinterpreting. But it's not for me to say.
If things don't go much further south he might recover. If they do, well, I'll be really sad.

They will sit and politely applaud Roy Moore when he takes his seat in the Senate and bide their time until they get to show their moral superiority by drumming out more and more members of our party as anonymous accusers come out of the woodwork.
OH, and this will embolden any Republicans with ethical issues of all sorts to come forward and run for office, since no one will ever dare question their righteousness. But, we'll jettison all of our fighters.
