(56,829 posts)Bannon's former boss Herr Trump didn't bother to hide behind his religion - he hid behind bogus medical issues. But, I guess the RW doesn't do irony.

(100,100 posts)Roy Moore is a perfect example - he's using the family values crowd because they would vote for a serial killer if they were right with Jesus.

(82,849 posts)But you didn't get around to joining the Navy until 1976 when guys were no longer dying in Vietnam. What were you doing while that was going on?

(16,093 posts)After graduation from high school, Bannon attended Virginia Tech and served as the president of the student government association.
Went from service aboard a destroyer as a surface warfare officer, to a glorified clerk assigned to the Pentagon working for the CNO(Chief of Naval Operations).
It looks as if he spent at least 9 or 10 years on active duty, yet only achieved the rank of lieutenant(03).

(16,093 posts)"Moore was perceived to be reckless, but very strict. He insisted his troops salute him on the battlefield, against his training, as such recognition facilitates an officer being targeted by an enemy. Some of his soldiers gave him the derogatory nickname "Captain America", due to his attitude toward discipline. This role earned him enemies, and in his autobiography he recalls sleeping on sandbags to avoid a grenade or bomb being tossed under his cot, as many of his men had threatened him with fragging."
Some who served under Moore there had referred to him, with sarcasm, as Captain America, chafing at his egoist style of command. One such officer, Barrey Hall, told the Associated Press, in 2003, that Moores policies damn near got him killed in Vietnam. He was a strutter.
