Ad infinitum. Sad, disgusting and unbearably frustrating. Bottom line is that we love our damn guns and the rights regarding them than we do the rights of people not to be murdered by them wherever they may go.

This phenomenon is infrequent. Sadly, most of the victims are relatively unimportant, i.e. kids.
