House approves more overtime pay for Secret Service to protect Trump

The House of Representatives passed a bill to raise overtime limits for the Secret Service — as the agency is reportedly cash-strapped from protecting President Trump’s large family.

The House voted overwhelmingly to pass the bipartisan Secret Service Recruitment and Retention Act of 2017 — which temporarily raises the salary and overtime cap for agents, according to Syracuse.com.

Maximum salary plus overtime has been increased from $161,900 to $187,000.

The increase was voted on after Secret Service Director Randolph “Tex” Alles warned during an August interview with USA Today that more than 1,000 agents have already hit their annual federally mandated cap.
