The tax bill will become law. Its worth raising holy hell, but it will pass regardless

It may be possible to derail House/senate negotiations, but if all that collapses, the house will just pass the senate version as is. There’s simply zero chance republicans will not make a tax bill become law because negotiations are really just optional at this point.

It’s worth complaining about, and it will be a major issue in 2018 and 2020, but one way or another, it will become law.

Sad but true.

2. Coin an appropriate name similar to "ObamaCare"

like "TrumpTax" and use it in every other sentence describing what is wrong with the country.

Use the words "dead of night" and "handwritten laws making individual Republicans very wealthy" and national debt.

"a trillion dollars to the debt" and "pending tax increases to cover bad law and support Republican welfare queens" and every thing you can think of.

Above all, make it plain that you are sick of supporting freeloading Republican grifters with your tax dollars.

The conservatives spent years making it sound like they were supporting an entire shiftless group of people.

Make them eat it. Every day, every chance you get. Demoralize the hell out of their base!

3. I NEVER discuss politics at work but

I’m going to start making an exception.
I’m payroll and benefits coordinator for a school district. A LOT of our teachers are taking grad courses and they are reimbursed (up to a certain $$/yr). For this they get a regular check - no tax withheld, no 1099, etc. That’s going to change now. In order for the fat cats to get a tax break, we’re going to punish teachers and now tuition reimbursement will be taxable. They’re going to think they’re getting their $$ back but instead they’ll get a *paycheck* for that amount - with fed tax, FICA, state and local taxes withheld. And when they’re surprised (and not happy) about this I will simply say, “you can thank the Republican Party.”

We've been saved before by House Republicans who are so crazy because their bills aren't horrible enough. We can hope.

7. Of course we can hope. But not about them not passing a tax bill.

It’s great to protest it, and we may get a slightly less horrible bill out of it, but I see no utility in defining our hopes in a way that really guarantees failure.

Pence could resign, Donnie could appoint Hillary vice-president, then Donnie could resign. That would be awesome but there’s no point on hoping for that and there’s no upside in calling that a defeatist attitude.

Achieveable gosls are really helpful. I’d rather not pin my hopes on House Republicans being so horrible and greedy and stupid that... ok you may be on to something there... ok, but no, seriously, they’re not going to pass nothing. They’re not going to leave the senate version to expire and have their donors pay th current tax rates.

2018 and 2020 are winnable worth hoping for. We could get a landslide at this rate.

They are in way more danger than the Senate.
