(5,810 posts)Saw exactly 2 Roy Moore signs and probably a dozen Doug Jones.
Then saw the hopeful polling news on WKRG, the CBS affililiate out of Mobile. A faint ray of hope! The ads for Moore are laughable talking about how he has been subjected to intense scrutiny without even a HINT of scandal. I practically did a spit take of my water.
Only 10 more days. Lets cross our fingers that the good people of Alabama stand up for Doug Jones and restore a little dignity to the state for a change.

(14,047 posts)Hundreds of Doug Jones signs in front of houses. ZERO Moore signs ( at least in any of the neighborhoods I was in.
But don't be fooled by that. Huntsville is not rural Alabama and there are a lot of Moore voters that don't want to advertise it.

(5,810 posts)They wont put a sign in their yards but will vote for that sleezebag. Same logic they used for voting for tRump. They put their fingers in their ears and loudly chant LA LA LA LA LA.....I cant hear you! If the situation were reversed and it was Jones with the accusers, he would have already been run out of the state. The stupid, it burns.

(54,414 posts)This is one where we in all likelihood go into the race with a huge handicap. We KNOW in advance, from reliable news reports, that electoral fraud WILL be perpetrated in this election by Republicans. That does NOT mean we lose. It just means that we need a decisive margin of victory to over come the Stalin syndrome ("Those who cast the votes decide nothing, those who count the votes decide everything" ).
The Virginia governor's race didn't change the course of history, though it helped. The New Jersey governor's race didn't change the course of history, though it helped. THIS election, while it won't give us a Senate majority, WILL whittle McTurtle's margin down from "barely safe" to "wobbly," and "wobbly" sometimes topples.
A Jones victory COULD be that little snowball that starts rolling down the mountain to become an avalanche by next November. A Moore victory would be celebrated as a solid confirmation of McTurtle and Trump, even if they win by one vote. Don't believe ONE word about the Senate expelling Roy Moore if he gets there. All talk of that would disappear the second he is sworn in. If he wins, the Republicans will pat him on the back and welcome him like a long lost brother.

(14,167 posts)It will all depend on turnout and Republican women. Doug can win it, but we need some Republican women to do the right thing and vote for Doug.
The good news is that it looks like Moore is running out of money and Jones is starting to flood the airwaves in an effort to close the deal.

(19,204 posts)Traitor Trump radio campaign coming up this week! Hopefully some of the people in Alabama are paying attention to the news about Flynn/Trump. Then there are the deplorables who will actually be excited by the Orange Liar's campaign spots for the equally deplorable Moore. This is going to go right down to the wire. For many voters, I don't think their mind will be made up until they enter the voting booth. Hopefully their consciences will lead them to the right decision.
