We've been scrambling and losing sleep and feeling whacked out for ages and ages now, but the worm appears to have turned, and holy shit. Yesterday was the BEST and WORST day of my life, in less than 24 hours. I woke up this morning just fried, desolate, inconsolable -
Cray as fuck, man. BUT, this is somewhat (or, extremely?) planned out, this rampant chaos and SHOCK, and I am just here to say, goddamit, hang tough/rock steady/keep the faith, my friends. I love you all, and I need you to ride this out with me - !!!
Your fellow American,

(5,191 posts)As a life long Chicago Cubs fan, they FINALLY won the World Series and then less than a week later, the Orange Menace stolen the election.
The highest high to the lowest low!

(13,524 posts)my entire life, but stumbled into, what, Game 4 or 5 last year? And instantly adored those Cubs, and got completely caught up in the glory of it all, and that was absolutely the last mental/emotional "break" I've had since. No lie! (thoroughly enjoyed the playoffs this year, of course!)
Appreciate your reply here, and by damn, we're gonna ride this wave like a boss, eh, 'cause that's just how we do!!!

(21,578 posts)I'm a Red Sox fan, and October 27th 2004 was one of the best days of MY life. The Red Sox finally won it all, and a week later we were going to boot shrub out of office.
Not only did Kerry "lose" (debatable) but when i got home from work/voting, i found my wife and daughter in tears............. my wife's grandmother died that day. Horrible day that was

(30,745 posts)I still feel gobsmacked by the Cubs win.
But if I had to choose? I would take another Cubs' loss over 45's "win."

(11,740 posts)The Republican tax plan, while continuing in motion, is not done yet, so there is still some hope and a little time to stop it. The Mueller investigation however, seems to be closing in. Trump I believe, will become more erratic and make more and bigger mistakes as the investigation proceeds.
We do need to keep pushing and keep our heads here. Put pressure on our politicians to hold firm, and on the Republicans where we can to shame them and call them out.

(11,740 posts)Here is how I try to break out of it. I tell myself, "Time is going to keep going and things are going to keep happening, I can lay here in bed or I can go out there and do something to try and better the situation because time will just keep moving forward."
Most times it works, sometimes you just need a day in bed with the covers pulled over your head.

(5,210 posts)I have to admit -- this morning was no better. Worse maybe since I spent so much of the night rehearsing my phone all to my 2 senators, which included the words, "I'll see you in hell."

Thanks for the hug...
Me and Captain Morgan have developed a beautiful friendship over the last year.
I have never been like this. The occasional glass of Merlot was about all I ever had.
The Captain dulls the pain.

(15,242 posts)If Democrats are unable to articulate this into an eventual GOP extinction event the GOP should not be the only ones facing a political demise. All starting in one day all the eggs in one basket.

(32,651 posts)"Eventual GOP extinction event!"
I've been posting in DU that this should bring about the end of the GOP and not many are agreeing with me.
This disastrous non-tax-cut non-reform bill, this is all they got and it absolutely sucks.
Now we know the truth - they've got nothing!
The GOP can't even write a bill, they have to get their lobbyists to write it. Are you f-ing kidding me?

The grand old place will need a thorough cleaning. Hopefully, soon.
