If not, you need to read this place more carefully, because this subject (Trump firing Mueller) comes up several times a day. And it's always pointed out that Trump cannot do that.

Sessions is supposedly recused, but who knows if maybe he can un-recuse himself.
Also Rosenstein appointed Mueller, and is a bit squirrelly (letting himself be used to cover the Comey firing), so if he's ordered to fire Mueller, will he resign?
Nixon went through 2 -- the AG and the assistant AG, forcing them to resign-- before getting to Bork who agreeably fired Archie Cox.

Could Trump do that? Sure. Would he get away with it? Who knows. He's gotten away with everything so far.

I lived in the DC area at the time.

All hell would break loose if Trump tries something similar. Fortunately for us, his ignorance of history is quite complete.

How things unfold after that is complicated, and uncertain.

They have Trump being impeached in 2018 at 7/1.

I say Trump firing Mueller in the next three months is 60/40.

1. The House votes on the Senate tax bill and passes it in the next week.
2. Trump signs it into law.
3. Trump fires Mueller in January, and (not needing him anymore) the GOP Congress will use that as an excuse to impeach him, because President Pence will be less of an embarrassment.

(Oh, and then in February, the Attorney General of NY State picks up the proceedings. They might even hire Mueller as an assistant.)
