a form of trickle down for the people it seems. Like you should thank the Trumps for allowing you to look at them.

I guess I'm a little spikey and ornery today. I'm not happy the rich are not participating in the economy. At least in Canada people who spend money on non necessities pay a value added tax and we get health care.

Seeing the pictures, I was reminded of what the character of Delia Deetz did to that house in Beetlejuice. I find it cold and creepy, especially in contrast to the warm way the Obamas decorated.

...in the Slavic countries as conceptualized by people used to decorating department store windows. Brrr.

Michelle O had flocks of ladies helping her put up ornaments sent in by people from all 50 states, that kind of thing. The Obamas had themed trees and sets everywhere, like the ones with figures of their two dogs at play. The White House chefs sent out a sculpted model of the WH to show off their prowess, iirc. There was not only a lot of color, but a lot of genuine emotional warmth and a sharing of the creative process.

Same with all the other First Ladies in my lifetime.

I truly feel sorry for Melania, star of her own production of Frozen.

That's not what people want to see from a President of their country.

We are not a nation of easily impressed idiots.

Interesting item from the ending of your article:

'Bah, humbug' for the media

Under previous administrations, the president held a press conference in the briefing room in December. Trump's not likely to do that.

One administration aide told me that she thinks it's beneath him to appear in the briefing room. Instead the president talks to reporters on the south lawn, in the Oval Office or on Air Force One, places where he seems to feel comfortable.

Not their fault. They seem to be very good dancers and look pretty. But because they seem out of place wandering around the White House, like lost spirits trying to find the stage.

That one behind Malaria almost looks as if she's squatting to pee. It's just that the camera caught her at the wrong moment. When you look closely you see she's in the middle of a move.

But when you see Malaria looking on them dancing with no expression, you wonder if she can see them at all. Are they spirits come to plague her? They certainly don't make her happy. So maybe they aren't people at all, just things moving around to decorate the awful lives of awful people.
