I believe that there was Russian interference WELL before the post-election, pre-inauguration transition period.
I think also that many Americans who aren't that interested in politics will likely view the post-election conversations with Russia to be simply a minor issue, and one of timing, along the lines of "OK, maybe they should have waited a little bit longer, but what's the big deal? Trump was going to be taking office soon so it was OK that he did what he could to 'improve relationships'."
It was the coordination with Russians (and possibly others) to throw the election to Trump illegally that concerns me most.

(590 posts)Do you think Mueller gave Flynn that awesome plea deal because Flynn had evidence of violations of the Logan Act?

(12,344 posts)In fact I think the outline is clear and Mueller figured it out months ago.
1) Russia has shady business deals with Trump going back decades (bribery, high crimes and misdemeanors).
2) Russia convinces Trump to run for President.
3) Russia promises to help Trump run and give him more shady deals.
4) Trump promises to improve relations with Russia in return.
5) Russia collects pee and other kompromat to keep him loyal.
6) Russia helps Trump through free advertising (campaign finance violation), hacked emails (theft, espionage), intelligence operations (espionage) and more shady deals (bribery, high crimes and misdemeanors).
7) Trump wins with Russian help.
8) Russia attempts to collect on Trump's promise to improve relations.
9) Trump is too stupid to deliver.
