Nancy Pelosi‏: "The cowardly Republican thieves..."

Nancy Pelosi? @TeamPelosi

While you were sleeping:

The cowardly Republican thieves passed the unpopular, deficit-exploding, tax-raising, unreadable, lobbyist-hand-written scribble #GOPTaxScam.

And they blatantly admitted this was their first step toward further obliterating Medicare & Social Security.

They want to dismantle the New Deal. And take all those safeguards and government-secured protections AWAY from us. And violate the social contract that the New Deal set up - that "you, Mr. & Mrs. America, will NEVER fall into poverty and devastation and want, the way we saw happen to millions of our fellow citizens during the Great Depression. There will be a safety net in place - to catch you when you fall (or are pushed - like the GOP so earnestly longs to do)."

And our "friends" (HAH!!!! I just realized what happens when you take the "R" out of the word "friends": you get "FIENDS"!!!) among the GOP (initials which now and forever more must stand for the Grand Old Predators) want to take that away from you - and all the rest of us. Except for those who are already comfortably well-situated and don't need any extra help.

But the R's in the Senate had a greater fear of what would happen if they didn't pass @GOPTaxScam.

I know their rich donors threatened cutting off the campaign checks, but it had to be more than that. They feared being totally ineffective, despite controlling all 3 branches of government.

And they are betting that voters insanely stupid enough to put Donald Effing Trump in the White House will not punish them for this theft.

constantly Filibustering legislation..so what the hell happen with this tax bill..Do you think the Democrats lost every bit of back bone.?
Why didn't the Democrats fight harder and what do you suppose the Republicans promised Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, they sold out in a hurry.

If the tables were turned the Republicans would be challenging with every legal maneuver possible in the courts.

We must now hope that Jones wins in Alabama bringing the Majority to only one we stand a chance of defeating this when it comes back to the Senate

However note that the GOP does not know how to govern and they have not put forth much in terms of legislation because they spent 1/2 of this year trying to kill the ACA with dozens of versions and ways to do such in both chambers.

When they choose to use "reconciliation" as a means to pass legislation (like this tax bill), which was done because of the Democratic opposition, they get limited by what they can put in the legislation and how it impacts the deficit.... They can only use that reconciliation rule 3 times for 3 different types of legislature per fiscal year and it allows a simple majority to pass a bill (i.e., no filibustering permitted). Any other type of legislation requires 60 votes (filibuster/cloture) in the Senate (the House has no such rule), so stuff usually dies in the Senate.

the past 20-25 years. The Dems have been taking toy rubber knives to an AR-15 gun fight for years. We are paying for that softness right now. They have been trying to "work with" these assholes for years and years. The Repugs don't play by the rules. Yes, it makes us better "persons" when WE do play by the rulebook, but it also means we LOSE every time.

by a minority.
In order to challenge a bill in court, the bill must actually become law. The rules of the Senate are set by the Senate, the courts have no jurisdiction. The rules of the House are set by the House.
The courts don't get to overturn laws before they are made.

My google search on "cowardly Republican thieves" turns up nothing but this post

Well, I searched on @teamPelosi and found this, but I don't know if this is her. Very odd that the media -- left, right, or center -- isn't reporting this.

?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet

Later: I found this at https://twitter.com/teamPelosi on the left side of the page:

Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s political team. Tweets from Leader Pelosi signed –NP

So it's not from her, but her poliltical team, whoever/whatever that is.

Here's one from @Pelosi that's similar, but without "coward-" or "thieves" in it, although it has "GOP tax scam", "betrayal" and "utter cruelty" in it
