I know their rich donors threatened cutting off the campaign checks, but it had to be more than that. They feared being totally ineffective, despite controlling all 3 branches of government.

20. Democrats (in the Senate) have been filibustering and slowing stuff down

However note that the GOP does not know how to govern and they have not put forth much in terms of legislation because they spent 1/2 of this year trying to kill the ACA with dozens of versions and ways to do such in both chambers.

When they choose to use "reconciliation" as a means to pass legislation (like this tax bill), which was done because of the Democratic opposition, they get limited by what they can put in the legislation and how it impacts the deficit.... They can only use that reconciliation rule 3 times for 3 different types of legislature per fiscal year and it allows a simple majority to pass a bill (i.e., no filibustering permitted). Any other type of legislation requires 60 votes (filibuster/cloture) in the Senate (the House has no such rule), so stuff usually dies in the Senate.

the past 20-25 years. The Dems have been taking toy rubber knives to an AR-15 gun fight for years. We are paying for that softness right now. by a minority.
In order to challenge a bill in court, the bill must actually become law. The rules of the Senate are set by the Senate, the courts have no jurisdiction. The rules of the House are set by the House.
The courts don't get to overturn laws before they are made.

Well, I searched on @teamPelosi and found this, but I don't know if this is her. Very odd that the media -- left, right, or center -- isn't reporting this.
