What is Donald McGahn's legal exposure in all of this mess?

There cannot be any doubt that Mr. McGahn is aware of illegal activities undertaken by Trump and his team. This knowledge is proven by the fact that he edited the Comey termination letter that Trump wrote with Stephen Miller. (Robert Mueller has a copy of the original letter.) Mr. McGahn may have, therefore, participated in an illegal cover-up.

Further, he must have known about the cover story that Trump dictated to his son concerning the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Russian representatives.

To any DU legal professionals, what trouble could McGahn be in?

John Dean, White House Counsel, and Chuck Colson, White House Special Counsel were both convicted for their role in the coverup. They both pled guilty. McGahn's own legal jeopardy depends on what he knew at the time, but as of now, it doesn't seem like he was deeply involved as Dean and Colson. Stay tuned for more action.
