In my most humble opinion we need to quit complaining about this or that demographic who voted 13% for 45*, or who voted third party, blah blah blah. HILLARY WON THE FUCKING VOTE BY OVER 3 MILLION !!!! We got screwed by a system which was set up to placate slave states and which needs to go away. We got screwed by Putin, Assange and Comey who did just enough to sway fence-sitters in a few key states.
And we're getting screwed again by repub congress critters who are about to hand a huge gift to the wealthy. What we have no power over is the results of an election that took place over a year ago, but we sure the hell can get on the phone, keyboard, and smart-phone and make sure any Congressman or Senator is going to feel the heat for supporting the repub give-away to the rich.

(431 posts)But we must recognize that it wasnt the sole reason for Hillary losing. I too hate this infighting so when discussing the issue, we need to concentrate on remedies instead of finger pointing. I feel like they were serious issues that mattered to people who went the Bernie or bust route so lets find out what those issues are and try to fix it. If we can set up a protocol for situations like the last election, itll be one less thing to worry about. We already have our hands full with backward ass, bible thumping, hypocritical republicans.

(12,870 posts)The important thing is for discussions of 2016 to be focused on understanding what happened so that mistakes can be corrected going forward.

(3,913 posts)And 2004. Until the Democrats get serious about addressing the various election scams (Crosscheck and similar programs, gerrymandering, privately owned hackable voting machines, media consolidation, not providing adequate polling places and machines in Democratic areas, unlimited dark money a la Citizens United, etc. I don't hold out much hope for real election results.

(34,195 posts)Some can't and won't stop stirring the pot about 2016,
except now they've switched to how when they're talking about 2016
it really means 2018, 2020.
This 'family feud' will only hurt us ...
