If you go by Trumps history, he may attempt to do this.

If the tax cuts get passed Trump will have reached his goal, enriching himself. He and his family will make a fortune off these tax cuts.

Soon Trump will soon realize, if not already, that he cannot survive this investigation. He will lose. During Trumps entire business career he would always fight until he knew he could not win. When that happened he looked for a way out. He would make a deal and take the money and run.

If the tax cuts pass look for Trump to make a deal and resign. Take the money and run.

He's used to civil cases. How many times has he been sued? How much did he ever pay out?

he'll get away from this, too. IDK. But looking at the republicans in congress......I don't see much courage.

I have a theory that Trump made a promise to resign in exchange for Flake, Mccain, Collins and Murkowski yes votes on this bill. He has a look of someone resigned to their fate. He knows that Flynn will tell everything and it is far worse than anything we've heard. He and Pence will be gone before the end of the year.

He'll have won $1 billion for himself and his kids in tax relief. Not a bad payday for 10 months at a job.

Plus he'll have the added benefit of having screwed all those red-hatted yahoos who supported (and still support!) him.

He'll find some way he can see quitting as a "win" and walk out of White House, leaving the mess he's made for the next guy to clean up.

Trump's family would announce that he's, say, suffered a stroke and that he's voluntarily stepping down and handing over the presidency to Pence. Pence then passes the word to prosecutors that Trump is not healthy enough to stand trial and he stands ready to pardon him of any offense to spare him and his family any further trauma.

I don't see any evidence that Trump's that rational. He'll have to be physically dragged out of the White House.

If the tax plan has a bad impact on his poll numbers and it looks like he will be indicted, he would be best to develop an unexpected illness that means he must step down and is too sick to give evidence.
