1. We have to stop this

this government now belongs to the ultra filthy rich and corporations.
We need to stop this next will be social security and the rest, they cannot fool us, this means war and it has been on the Middle class for many years.

The GOP will steal their fate when hopefully they will be jumping out of windows like their counterparts did during the Great Depression.

Hear that sound..........................Mr McConnell and Mr Ryan.............that is the hissing and growling of the American people.

4. We were energized BEFORE this massive theft. As much as this is going to hurt good people RIGHT now

it will ultimately be the final downfall of the Republicans, starting in late 2018. Roy Moore and this massive theft by the ultra-wealthy will be a millstone around the neck of every Republican running in every race from dog-catcher to Governor in 2018, and they did it to themselves. Let them eat cake indeed.

5. Perhaps it will lead to change.

I don't know. I thought that would happen in 2016, and yet, it did not. I know why that is. Do you?

10. It didn't get as bad as it is now, the country was in a pretty good (or at least

so-so spot for the majority of Americans), so most non-political (or just plain bored) people just said, "Fuck it; let's try something completely crazy; it's all the same anyways, so let's shake it up."

They're now seeing (or will shortly) what exactly that has done (and will continue to do until they STOP IT).

I think Virginia was a great microcosm for what we're going to see in 2018. That was a wave not seen in 100 years. Look at the special state Senate election in OK, where a young, openly gay, woman beat a Republican in a very red seat.

People are waking up, and every election since the 2016 election has proven that over and over again (even the 4 special elections we lost were REMARKABLY close in SUPER safe seats for Republicans even just months before, including South Carolina).

It feels like the ones that WEREN'T paying attention are now. We just need to keep the momentum up for another year. I don't Trump will make that as hard as it sounds with his constant poking of the bear.

**NOTE: Not saying I'm a political genius or anything, or that I have the right answers, but it was interesting to me that the woman that won in OK and the transgender woman that won in VA focused exclusively on LOCAL issues, and issues that mattered to their constituents (infrastructure mainly in both cases). I think there's something there.

6. Look at Virginia

We were ready...already.

The horrible republican tax bill is just icing on the Trump shitcake!

We better now aim to take back the House and the Senate. This is all out war now.

No more BS. The republicans have made it crystal clear where they stand.

All democrats need to make it clear as well.

7. Again, we will find out in November.

In the meantime, we should all be working to convince people that going to the polls and voting for Democrats is crucial. That would help. If we're willing to drag people we know to the polls, we might overcome this. If not, then we probably won't.

It's up to each of us, really, to work toward that goal. Individually. With people we know. That's the only way.

GOTV is not a group slogan. It is a personal call to action. We cannot wait for others to do it for us, as we have done too often in the past. It's up to each of us.

11. 100% on that. That's the only way I'm ever able to contribute; 1 on 1 with people I know that

really aren't into politics or paying attention. I seem to win a few over every cycle. I like to feel like that's my little contribution, and if we all chip away like that (on top of just the general disgust brewing among the rest of the electorate), only good things can happen.

People will have to want democratic government over an industrial parkland.
