And we paid him to do it.
MY cancer is being treated under a Medicare grant that allows rural hospitals to treat cancer locally instead of making them drive 4 hours round trip for their chemo and tests.
anyone who has had a close encounter with cancer ( family, friends, maybe themselves) knows how physically demanding treatment can be.
WE paid for McCain's treatment, but he decides we don't get the same thing.
I am seeing red right now and very glad I do not own a weapon.
This Congress has declared war on anyone who is not a rich white male. period.
We can't afford to be nice against this form of genocide.

(54,770 posts)I'm on Medicare and oppose cuts, or in this case an attempt to reduce the annual increases in Medicare expenditures. But I oppose scaring people with BS even more.
I oppose the tax bill, but think we need to fight it on facts not scaring cancer patients.

(54,770 posts)And, only some providers said they were going to quit providing drugs. Others sucked up the 2% cut to the 6% they get above the drug cost. Medicare pays them separately for administering the drugs. And the "cut" was reversed.
Thanks again.

(54,770 posts)Medicare from reimbursing cancer drugs, just some attempt to scare cancer patients.
There is nothing in the current tax bill directed at cutting reimbursement for cancer drugs either. We don't have to resort to Fox News type lies to condemn this tax plan. I'm referring to the article, not the OP.

(60,010 posts)since I am following several Senators who are saying the bill keeps changing, that it has illegible handwritten segments, etc, and they are decrying the Republicans efforts to pass a bill when so little in known in it.
what part of the bill that relates to Medicare costs did you see?
I am still watching C-span for the final vote.

(54,770 posts)There are proposals to cut the rate of increase in Medicare over 10 years, but that has happened just about every year for decades. Saying the tax bill will cut cancer treatment is irresponsible and something I'd expect from FOX type "journalists."
Heck, they didn't even say cut, they said "kill cancer treatment." That's irresponsible.

(60,010 posts)and I understand you are not throwing "Fox News" around to dismiss my post, that you are ascribing that to Daily Kos.
but you did not quite address my question.
you said,....."There is nothing in the current tax bill directed at cutting reimbursement for cancer drugs"
logically, of course, one cannot know that unless one had read the bill to note the absence of that language, .
otherwise one is in that difficult territory of proving a negative.
can you point me to where you were able to read the bill so that you know what is not in it?
Hoyt
(54,770 posts)a proposal, much less language, that will end cancer treatment. That is Bull. The bill will harm ACA, hurt lower income people long-term, unjustly enrich wealthy, and maybe worse. We need to fight it on that, no scaring sick people with junk.
After 8 years, I'm tired gross exaggerations/distortions by GOPers when Obama was Prez. We don't need to do the same, now. There is plenty of legitimate stuff to condemn GOPers.

(51,593 posts)How was this considered "normal procedure" to vote on a bill when no one read it and if they did they had 15 min to read 100 pages...rushed through since it smells like the shitty bill that it is. How was this procedure OK with McCain but the Healthcare repeal procedure was wrong?
