Democrats should not do a thing

to fix the affordable care act while repukes control government after they repeal the individual mandate. One of the excuses Susan Collins is using is there will be legislation to stabilize the insurance markets before the end of the year centered around high risk pools. Not even attached to this legislation. First of all high risk pools don't work, but even they did. Who seriously believes the republican congress is going to pass legislation to fix insurance markets?

run $60-100K evefy single year for political gain.

It doesn't make a damn bit of difference who fixes it, and no one - especially progressives - should be using my daughter as a political pawn

they are not going to fix anything anyway. There is no incentive for Democrats help republicans in congress to try and fix what they brake especially sense they wont fix it in anyway, but make it worse. "You brake it you bought it." You don't let people extort you for political gain which is exactly what republicans are doing.

reframing acting in the best interests of the people harmed as helping Republicans.

My daughter is not a political pawn. She is a real person, with $60,000 - $100,000 in medical expenses every single year. I don't give a damn who gets credit for making sure she gets to live - nor should any progressive. But I'm mad as hell that every time she is hurt (or her life is being threatened) the rallying cry is "Don't help the Republicans."

that help sick people, the elderly or poor people is to make matters worse for them? As long as republicans control the government they will not pass any legislation to improve the healthcare system in any meaningful way. Only thing Democrats can do by working with a handful of republicans is to give them political cover to them so they can look reasonable while no legislation ever gets passed through the house. I sympathize with your daughter especially sense I myself have medical expenses of around 50,000 to 60,000 a year, but a dog and pony show with Democrats working with a handful republicans on legislation that will never pass while republicans control the government will not help anybody. This isn't just political for me it is personal!

What is making me angry is the repeated suggestion by progressives that for Democrats to lift a hand to work to make life easier for my daughter, or to mitiage the impact Republican's atrocious policies on her life, is to help Republicans (and that for that reason Democratics should not work to make life easier for my daughter, or to mitiage the impact their atrocious policies on her life)

That makes her a political pawn - one it is acceptable to use to gain political points, and who is acceptable collateral damage, if leaving her medically ravaged body lying in the streets makes the Republicans look worse.

this,McConnell was able to write the rule under which this POS will be considered and there for past by 51 votes. The Rule passed by 51 votes and from here on it is open War Fare in the Senate, never will they go back to 60 vote margins. It is after all,all about the Money and Power,F*ck the people,Corporations is where it is at.

As far as Schumer is concerned, just say you own it when the Layoffs start next year. And Wal Mart starts complaining about their Stores losing money.
