The debate on the tax bill just got interesting.

A page of amendments by lobbyists was added.

The copy that was given to the Senator was unreadable.

The text on the right hand side of the page was cut off.

A Senator wrote in the missing parts all the way down the page.

He asked to have it submitted in the record to show how this is being rammed

and rushed through.

He was not allowed.

It will probably pass.

I don't think the Democratic Senators can stop it.

I have been watching for hours.

horrible mistake will adversely affect all of us. The economy is already in overdrive, with corporate profits at record highs and unemployment at record lows. The tax cut will decrease government revenues which will drive interest rates up. The rising interest rates will cause cuts in government services and nonmilitary discretionary funding that comes back to states for things like transportation, social safety nets and earned income programs like Social Security and Medicare which will have to be more stringently means tested.

Because more and more money will have to go to fund interest on the national debt.

But rest assured we will have more 'defense' spending, as well as more 'national security' spending. And as more of our wealth goes to the coffers of slimy billionaire parasites like Charles Koch, we will continue to be squeezed.

Tighter money will constrict the economy and throw us into a recession.

Laughing Republicans will continue to deregulate and privatize everything in sight, and soon we will have private schools, police departments, firefighting departments. Government everywhere will constrict. In some areas, they will not be able to afford to turn on streetlights. Parks and public properties will be ruined in the quest for ever greater profits from mining and extraction, and city parks and open spaces will become dangerous and overgrown.

Democrats will fight back, but there will be a war, and elections will be suspended.

Only an ever-shrinking number of so-called middle class people will be able to afford to educate their children, and college will pretty much be out of reach for everyone but the children of billionaire freaks. Healthcare will be out of reach as well, and only the wealthy will be able to afford any kind of decent healthcare. The rest of us will have to hope we can die quickly without suffering too much.

THAT'S RIGHT - THIS IS A DIRECT ATTACK ON ECONOMIC JUSTICE, which will put social justice causes further in the background to simmer. The truth is these two must go hand in hand. We did talk about that, didn't we?
