'This is insanity!' Cory Booker on GOP Tax Plan

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Sen. Cory Booker said his Senate Republican colleagues were ignoring facts and evidence in seeking to pass tax legislation that gives most of its benefits to corporations and wealthy Americans.

"This in insanity," said Booker, D-N.J., in a speech on the Senate floor as lawmakers debated the GOP tax bill. "This is folly. This is fiction being foisted upon the American people."
...................................

"Trickle-down economics, no matter how it's disguised, doesn't work and Republicans' attempts to camouflage it as tax reform is offensive and won't work for American workers," Booker said.

"Instead of giving massive tax breaks to corporations and hoping it somehow gets to workers, let's just give the money directly to workers," Booker said. "We don't need some fancy system of hoping things will trickle down. Let's cut out the corporate middleman."

Whether its in wages, assistance or tax cuts, giving money to the lower and middle classes makes the most sense. They spend the money. Eventually it gets back to the rich. Giving money to the low and middle classes means that the money has to pass through more hands to get to the wealthy, that makes the economy work for everyone.

with the rich at the bottom. Pump money up to the top (the poor) and it will all get spent. Some of it will circle the bowl, but much of it heads toward the bottom. "Trickle Down" is "Trickle Up" in this model, which assumes that the toilet will get backed up and flood, but this toilet has a never clogging drain that siphons away every dollar. Gravity is greed and the law of Gravity always works.

in line behind a gigantic transfer of wealth to the already wealthiest. Trickle down economics has never and will never work! The Treasury Secretary is a total liar and needs to be removed from office immediately. America is about to fall off the edge of the flat Earth! Really!

and dreams of the GOP for justifying their tax nightmare being in a study by Steve (who demands to be called Steven) Mnuchin that he promised, but never even started. Apparently, that's what brought things to a screeching halt. The only studies done show the real nightmare their transfer of wealth from poor to rich is.

I received this email today from my senator, Dick Durbin:

This is not a drill: Senate Republicans are on the verge of passing their billionaires-first tax scam, with a vote possible as early as tonight.

This bill is a giant giveaway to the wealthy and big corporations -- and it’s all paid for by hiking taxes on seniors and the middle-class.

It’s also a backdoor attack on Obamacare. Republicans are calling this bill by a different name, but its impact on America’s health care system is nearly as bad as the repeal effort we fought so hard to block. 13 million people stand to lose health insurance if this bill passes.

We need all hands on deck immediately, Sheila. Speak out: add your name right now to oppose the GOP tax plan.

This is a bad deal for the American people. It’ll raise middle-class taxes and put health care for millions at risk -- all to give the wealthy few a tax break. That’s not who we are as a nation or what our values should be.

It’s time to light up the phones, reach out to your senators and make your voice heard.

Start by adding your name right now: tell the GOP not to pass this disastrous tax scam.

Thank you for taking action at this pivotal moment,

My best,

Dick Durbin

And I think maybe that is exactly what little Putin and little hands are really trying to do.

If this passes, I give it 2 to 4 years before it goes crash, bang, boom. Last time, it took about 4 to 6 years before a crash when W passed his tax give away. We are a less robust economy now. Maybe Trump will be able to get away before it crashes this time. W wasn't expecting the crash on his watch either.
