Gabbie Gifford's replacement was just on with Melissa, and

he refused to take a stance on the NRA's responsibility in the shootings even though he himself had been shot in the face. What the fuck is the NRA? How did they get so much power that . . . oh, oh, Dick Cheney is their daddy.

The Hollywood cowboy culture gun nuts have won. The consequences are episodic mass murder events like Aurora, on a more or less regular basis. The consequences are more Trayvon Martins dead from gun nuts like Zimmerman. And their solution: everyone everywhere packing heat, is becoming reality.

The NRA doesn't really have that much power. At least that's what I've heard here on DU recently.
