The next speaker of the FL House is so bad he's getting opposition from his own party!
Despite his clout, Dorworth draws 2 challengers in Florida House District 29
It's rare for one of Seminole County's most powerful legislators to draw challengers from within his own party.
But that's what's happening with state Rep. Chris Dorworth, a Lake Mary Republican who was first elected to the state House of Representatives in a 2007 special election. Dorworth is slated to become House speaker in 2014.

Dorworth is fighting foreclosure on his $1.5 million Lake Mary home, and he has not made a mortgage payment in more than two years. Last month, the development consultant reported that he earned $215,142 in 2011, with a majority of it coming from Madison Christopher Holding LLC, a firm chartered in Delaware. But Dorworth had more than $235,000 in losses from failed real-estate ventures between 2004 and 2007.

Donations to Dorworth's campaign have come from hundreds of sources, including the health-care industry, real-estate companies, insurance firms, law offices and political action committees. Donations to the Moffit and Onest campaigns have come from individuals and small groups.
