"That's not true."

It's been eight weeks since more than 500 people were killed or wounded by one gunman in Las Vegas. Congress has done nothing in response.

Dear @ddiamond: That's not true. Congress stood silently for 60 seconds after the Las Vegas mass shooting. Then a few weeks later, Congress stood silently for 60 seconds after the Texas mass shooting.

at reducing the number of fatalities and injuries from guns.

On the other hand, it does give them a feeling of the warm fuzzies when they do that.

Thanks, Congress, for ALL you are doing to make us safer. 🙄🤔😡

While Congress hasn't done anything about gun violence, they have had 120 seconds of not doing anything at all in response to the latest major tragedies.

They are the ones who could do something meaningful to stop or even just reduce the carnage. It is about the optics not the action. This is not how things are supposed to work but unfortunately that is where we find ourselves. 🤔😥😟

They take a moment to literally do nothing in order to make it seem like they care, which in turn means they don't have to do anything, because hey, we care, see? We took a whole MOMENT of silence.

Good job team. Keep doing literally the least you can do, which is nothing. We'll just be over here, dying.

By the way, where have the posters gone who persistently started threads claiming Democrats were doing nothing, saying nothing, and in general we had no good Dems?

Surely the time to talk about that one is long overdue.

I wish someone would come on Fox News and ask this.
