Bernie Sanders nominated for a Grammy

BY JUDY KURTZ - 11/28/17 09:37 AM EST

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) could be adding Grammy winner to his resumé — the 2016 White House hopeful just garnered his first Grammy nomination.

The former presidential candidate and actor Mark Ruffalo were nominated Tuesday in the spoken word category for the audiobook of "Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In," Sanders' 2016 tome.

Other nominees in the category include Bruce Springsteen, the late actress Carrie Fisher, astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and songwriter Shelly Peiken.

The Grammys air on CBS on Jan. 28.

And you're correct. That would be prime-time fodder for a GOP opponent to use in negative ads.

They won't drag it out now. It will only become a major issue if he threatens someone electorally at the national level. Not sure if he has the ability to do so but it seems clear he is trying to line it up.

He was mayor of Burlington, then Congressman and then Senator. Not to mention, advocating for things that do not exist is pretty normal. Would you have said the same about Ted Kennedy, who in 2005 or 2006 sponsored a single payer bill that he knew would go nowhere - even though Massachusetts did not have single payer.

California, all based on his own versions of how to get things done. Yet he hasn't gotten it done himself. The people trying to oust Democrats aren't elected politicians in State government. Isn't the revolution based on convincing people? Why would Vermont get a pass on those tactics.
