about john conyers

listening to a story about the allegations on msnbc.
the stories scream to me of alzheimers.
i hope someone in his family takes this situation as a way to drag him to the doctor.

showing up in his pajamas, and loosing his inhibitions?
90 years old.

come on people. i have no problem w people serving forever as long as all the tools are still sharp. but i find it so disturbing when people are shielded from their mortality.

I agree with Nancy Pelosi and Judge Conyers that an ethics investigation is the way to go. He's not the only one who's probably little daft and should retire. Senator Hatch for one and of course the demented fool in the WH.

I forgot what venue he showed up to like that so i watched it a second time.

Steve Shepard of Politico said that the Detroit Free Press is reporting that Conyers showed up to a meeting with Melanie Sloan and he was only wearing his underwear.

ask Paul Ryan what he wears in his, since he sleeps there. I don't think he did it to be offensive. Maybe he needs a robe.

Hearing it from someone at Politico today should have made me say, "Hmmm".

He was just in his underwear. Maybe he gets daft sometimes.

But, I wasn't sure of the timeline of this alleged behavior--whether it's recent, or has been ongoing. But, yeah. This behavior is not uncommon in Alzheimer's and dementia patients. At 88, it's quite possible this is what's happening. What galls me about all of this is that nobody ever went after my former senior Senator like that. Strom Thurmond impregnated his teenage housekeeper when he was in his thirties. Everyone knew about it, but they kept re-electing him, even when he was nearing 100-years-old, and senile. I have little doubt that his staff and the GOP covered up behavior comparable to what is being alleged from Conyers. We'll likely never know for sure, though, as he is still pretty much considered a deity in these parts.
