Flynn’s lawyer had shopped him for an immunity deal, but got no takers in Congress, thankfully. Now he’s subject to Mueller’s full pressure, and seems to have flipped on higher-ups.

I don't want him locked up.
I've been under the shadow of possible harsh legal consequences before and it is a darkness and despair I wish on no one.
Perhaps now he will become wise enough to comprehend the old adage - "All you do comes back to you."

A man of great power and privilege who sells out his own country?

Why the hell not?

He knew what he was doing. He planned to kidnap a man, knowing that he was sending this man to his execution, for $15million. I think I'll save my sympathy for poor kids getting sent to jail for minor offenses like jaywalking-"resisting arrest."

It's important to hold rich and powerful criminals to the law, or there is no low-- there's only legally-sanctioned oppression.

I'm sure he knows more than he's saying here, but he's careful not to tip Mueller's hand.

It seems that earlier reports that Flynn offered to testify against Trump and the offers were refused by the feds - they weren't refused but Mueller thought they were premature. Now Mueller has had over 6 months to check out leads on his own and he's ready to talk with Flynn about what he REALLY knows. Flynn will talk but he's going to jail anyway, the point is to try and get his son out of trouble. Mueller knows what he's doing, he's going after the Big Cheeto.

Click on the tweet posted by the OP and follow down to the entries by Seth Abramson. I don't know who Seth Abramson is, but he's undoubtedly a lawyer. I'm guessing maybe a co-worker or colleague of Preet's (?).

Anyway in about 15 entries or successive tweets, this Seth Abramson lays out several good points about the NYT article and what we know about Flynn. It takes several minutes to read all of them, but they're very good and worthwhile.

Maybe Flynn knows that his son will not do well under interrogation and in a court room, since he is crazy and not too bright.

He has to save him from all of that.

but he's getting close, I think. Hell, given what we know just by following the news reports, you figure Mueller has a lot more on Flynn than we do. Hell, everybody knows he violated FARA rules. Sure, he went back and filed post facto, but actually that is just a public confession. It doesn't exonerate him except in the most "friendly" of circumstances.

I think we've known for a while that Flynn was toast. Plus, if Trump tries to pardon Flynn, it kind of removes his 5th Amendment protections against self-incrimination.

Flynn's been paranoid ever since he was fired from the Obama administration (fired for cause too.) Now he'll know that everyone's against him. Ordinarily I'd kind of feel sorry for him.
But ... nah he deserves it.

I think that ship has sailed, he's not getting immunity for himself, but apparently he can still help his son.

Trump has no interest in pardoning Flynn's son, and he doesn't seem too interested in helping Flynn either. The guy was trying to get Trump to pay for his defense lawyers, and he wouldn't even help with that. So much for the "loyalty test" right?
