Mike Flynn looks to be cooperating with special counsel Robert Muellers investigation and that spells big trouble for President Donald Trump, his son and son-in-law.
Norm Eisen, the former ethics czar for President Barack Obama, said news that Flynns attorneys have stopped sharing information about the case with Trumps legal team should put the president on notice.

Eisen said hed helped negotiate a cooperation deal with another target of a Mueller investigation, when the special counsel was a U.S. attorney, and he said that offered some insight into how a Flynn deal might work.

Eisen followed up his Thursday night tweets with another the next morning, which should give the president even more cause for alarm.

and stays at least one step ahead of them at all times. And he is fearless, nerves of steel, and cannot be corrupted.
Few of us can truly appreciate what it took for Mueller to survive in VN, and in fact do a stellar job as a Marine rifle platoon leader.

(20,998 posts)...if tRump* is indicted, he cannot pardon co-conspirators, which I am willing to bet is everyone on his "aren't we special" lists.
After Flynn* and son of Flynn*, I believe Jar-Jar* may be in the most legal jeopardy. I so fucking hope so... Jar-Jar* is in this mess right up to his shit-brown eyes. I think it was Jar-Jar* and the evil succubus Jarvanka* that helped convince Daddum*s to run, thinking they would profit handsomely off of their new national and international statures. I think Jar-Jar* has been looking for financial assistance to save his family's ailing financial "empire" for some time now.... sucks to have bet the family farm on buying a building for 1.8 billion that's worth *maybe* half that.

The Constitution says The President can't pardon in matters of impeachment. An indictment is not an impeachment.
The way I read it, and I'm by no means any legal scholar, The President can't pardon himself of the impeachment.
There is nothing in The Constitution saying he can't pardon people that might testify against him or lead to his impeachment. I think, at a minimum, the impeachment limit on the powers only kicks in when there is an actual impeachment. Otherwise, any pardoning of high level officials would be subject to limits -- and we have never seen that happen. See: Daddy Bush pardoned everyone who could have placed him "in the loop" on Iran-Contra where we all know he was.
His powers of pardon are pretty much absolute for federal crimes. The only remedy is after the deeds are done. See: repiglicker congress. Or prior to the deeds if we had anything resembling a responsible Congress.
Or if it goes to The Supreme Court. See: repiglicker majority and politicians in robes.
