the entire island has had way more rain than usual. Forecast suggests rain will stay around for three more days.

We are safe but that's not true for lots of folks. There are several landslides in the hills..
What a lot of Jamaican 'bad words' in the videos.

Our DIL lived in Puerto Rico for a few years and would have liked to go back. We even talked for fun about where we would live, them in sociable San Juan, us in a little fishing village or up on a lush forested mountain with views out over the Caribbean.

But actually, the prospect of living on an unsustainable island when things went bad for a while made me nervous and I told them so. And things haven't even "gone bad" as in some large national or global disaster, just a combo of a local disaster from global warming and bad people in control of our government. That last turns out to be a large national disaster, of course, but not the kind I was imagining. So stupid.

but that is some amount of rain! I hope it lessens soon so the island can dry out a little. Landslides, wow, that is some serious shit. Be safe.
